Helen & Justin

Helen arrived with the most brilliant bright and beautiful wedding bouquet, her dress fit her personality perfectly and she was absolutely beaming. Justin, the slightly more nervous of the two, waited patiently in his charming brown fedora for all the fun to start. It may have been long but this wedding definitely wins the award for best and funniest reading!

The weather may not have been as perfect as hoped but the sun was definitely shining inside the beautifully decorated marquee, dressed by the lovely Hattie & Flora. You couldn’t help but smile when walking inside to all the lively colour combinations and amazing table centre pieces.

“My new husband and I got married at Shenley Cricket Club on Sunday 28th August this year and it was the most perfect day. Mark, Lucy, Svetlana and the whole team were absolutely amazing from when we booked our venue, to when we had to postpone to a later date, right up to the wedding and even afterwards.

There are so many things to say about how attentive, supportive, helpful, friendly and incredible they have been in the whole planning process. The venue itself is so beautiful and really ideal for the English summer’s day theme we were going for. As hubby is a big cricketer and fun, we arranged a wedding day cricket match, that everyone enjoyed either taking part in or as a spectator, it was just a shame the weather kept us going on and off pitch!

We had 172 guests (100 for the ceremony and 172 for sit down) – the large marquee didn’t feel too cramped at all and the venue is so big that our guests were spoilt for choice on exploring. The DJ and the music was great and our guests really enjoyed the partying – if only we could have had it last longer.

All of our guests commented on how lovely the venue was, how delicious the food was and how exceptional the staff were. You really helped make our day the most perfect of days and for that we can’t thank you enough.

Thank you to all and I can’t recommend you highly enough to anyone looking to use your venue for a wedding, or any other party for that matter.”

Katy & John

At 3 O’clock on Friday 18th November 2016 Katy and Jon said their vows in front of all their favourite people in a beautiful and emotional ceremony in the Compton Long Room. The Groom looked absolutely dashing, the Bride was picture perfect in her gorgeous white gown but undoubtedly the star of the show was their little angel (and Elsa Barbie).

They sat down to an absolutely delicious wedding breakfast of Pork and leek sausages served with stilton mash and onion gravy followed by a very seasonally appropriate dessert of Apple & Rhubarb Crumble served with custard.

Finally, at 8pm they got to the cutting of the cake, although it was not a traditional wedding cake. The couple had made the superb decision of having tiffin instead. If it tasted as good as it smelt, then this was a winning choice. All this and there was still time for plenty of fun!

“We got married yesterday and all I can say is from start to finish the whole process has been seamless!! The staff are fabulous, the food was outstanding and the party was brilliant!! I would highly recommend this venue to everyone. If you’re considering it don’t and just book it!!”
